JSPL through its many initiatives has touched and improved the lives of millions of people who are socially deprived. The Company has from the very beginning devoted itself entirely to the cause of the upliftment of backward areas of the country. Some of the initiatives taken are:
A corporate with a social conscience, JSPL is forever working towards forming a better society. Today, JSPL is the largest private sector investor in the state of Chhattisgarh and focuses on the development of its basic infrastructure. The Company has taken up a number of programmes to improve the lives of the underprivileged. Raigarh, a tribal district in Chhattisgarh, is one such example.
 To bring about a positive difference, JSPL has adopted around 40 villages and contributes to the development of the region through a more holistic effort. Amenities such as a hospital, school, musical fountain, auditorium, etc. built here offer a better lifestyle. The people of these areas are supported through various community-building exercises ranging from providing sewage and sanitation facilities to building and maintaining roads and parks.
Apart from organizing social welfare activities in Raigarh, JSPL also works in different areas of Odisha (Angul) and Jharkhand (Patratu) where the company has set up its plants.
