Our Infrastructure
With a self reliant and comprehensive
infrastructure to back our operations, we have perfected the process of
steel making over the past decade. Fully geared to provide international
level of quality, our infrastructure is equipped with state-of-the-art
machinery.
Supporting the production of Finished Products, JSPL has a most modern
steel-making capacity presently to the tune of 2.40 million TPA. In addition
to already existing one 60- ton Electric Arc Furnace (EAF), one Ladle
Refining Furnace (LRF) and one Vacuum Degassing (VD) unit and two Continuous
Casters, further, a new steel melting shop (SMS-II) has been set up adjacent
to the Rolling Mill. SMS-II comprises of two 100-ton EAFs, one LRF, one VD
unit, 1 X 4 Bloom-cum-Round-cum-Beam Blank Continuous Caster and 1 X 6
Strand Billet Caster. In near future one Single Strand Slab Caster and
another LRF will also be added.
JSPL has one 351m3 mini-blast Furnace and a new Blast Furnace
with a capacity of 1681m3 for improving productivity and to
reduce cost of production of steel by using Hot Metal and Sponge Iron mix.
The Hot Metal capacity is 1.50 million tones per annum. The Plate Mill - 1
Million tones capacity, has been commissioned in March 2007.
