Rails
WORLD'S LONGEST 120 M RAILS
Spanning 63,000 route kilometers, the
Indian Railways has the largest network in Asia and the second largest in
the world. Carrying 13 million passengers and over 1.3 million tonnes of
freight daily, it is the most important means of transport in the country
today ...
Giving impetus to this significant sector, which plays a key role in the
development of the nation, JSPL is the pioneer in manufacture of World's
Longest Rails. Envisioning the significance of railways in a developing
country like India, JSPL revolutionized the sector by introducing 120m long
rails.
Manufacturing world's longest 120 m long rails for the first time in
India...

Constantly evolving and continuously
looking at quantum leaps in technology, JSPL ushered in the latest, cutting
edge technology to produce rails that can change the face of Indian
Railways.
The availability of 120 m long rails ensures a drastic reduction of weld
population in Indian rail tracks (from 160 welds per track km presently to
17) resulting in enhanced safety and cost reduction. The performance of
Indian Railways would improve on account of enhanced safety, increased
reliability, comfort and prolonged rail life.
With a vision of building a better
India, JSPL is dedicated to transforming the dream of high-speed trains in
India into a reality.
Our comprehensive range of rail steels can be broadly classified as:
- Normal grade typified by 710 N/mm² Minimum UTS
- Wear Resistance Grade Typified by 880 N/mm² minimum UTS to
1080 N/mm² UTS

The quality assurance system of JSPL today
is certified by BSI-London for Quality BS:EN 9002:2000 and BS EN14001:1996
for Environmental Management System. This process involves performance of
all levels of company activities, in accordance with internationally
recognized standardization structures and certification, as those detailed
Under ISO:9000 series. Besides autonomous
responsibility for self-checking, wherein products are qualified by
self-certification, i.e. extensive internal and external inspection in
conformity with customer requirements we also follow the system of approval
by third party inspections prior to dispatch.

JSPL believes in understanding the minutest of details of rail
customers in order to provide them with foolproof solutions. We are
committed not only in supplying rails but also in facilitating the building
of a system of modern rail tracks for the Indian Railways.
A Flash-Butt Welding plant, with state-of-the-art technology has been
installed to produce long welded rails up to 480m for direct transportation
to Indian Railway's construction sites.
The mill is equipped with facilities for continuous on-line inspection for
quality control and the rails would conform to Indian Railway specifications
as well as to various international specifications.
Exhaustive tests and a production process are being developed under an
ongoing technical collaboration with JFE Engineering Corporation (Earlier
known as NKK Corp.), Japan.
