Mr. Naveen Jindal
Mr. Naveen Jindal

Mr. Naveen Jindal is a management graduate (M.B.A) from University of Texas at Dallas U.S.A. and B.Com (Hons.) from Delhi University. He is the Executive Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Jindal Steel & Power Limited. He is also Chairman of Jindal Power Limited. He possesses a vast knowledge and experience in managing the corporate affairs and business, particularly that of steel & power. He is equally committed to the upliftment of society at large and has consequently planned large-scale investments in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Orissa. He is a Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Kurukshetra Constituency in the State of Haryana and represent Indian National Congress.

His unrelenting efforts and a decade long struggle led to the historic judgment on 23rd January 2004 wherein the honorable Supreme Court made the right to fly the Tiranga- our national flag, a Fundamental Right. Today, because of his endeavors, every citizen of India has the right to fly the National Flag freely with respect and dignity on all days of the year.

Even in parliament, he is making a significant difference. Be it getting a ban imposed on smoking in one of the most hallowed institutions of the country or acceptance of Indian Currency (Rupee) at the duty free shops, he is actively working for the development of the nation, on each and every front. An avid polo player with a +2 handicap, he is also a shooting enthusiast and a National Record holder in Skeet Shooting. Committed to the cause of putting a successful India on the global map and instilling a feeling of patriotism in every single individual, his achievements are many.

Mr. Vikrant Gujral
Mr. Vikrant Gujral
Born on August 20, 1941, Mr. Vikrant Gujral graduated with an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jabalpur University. Mr. Gujral joined JSPL as Vice Chairman & CEO in the year 2001. Under his dynamic leadership, new units have not only stabilized production in very short time but have shown marked improvements in production & productivity indices with consequent higher profitability and in-fact JSPL has emerged as the most profitable integrated steel plant in its scale of operation in the country. JSPL has been felicitated with a number of accolades and awards, which is a testimony of his dynamic leadership.

He started his career with Indian Iron and Steel Company, Burnpur as a Management Trainee in the Mechanical Maintenance Department in 1963. By dint of sheer hard work, he rose to the post of Executive Director In-charge of IISCO in December 1992. After a long span of 30 years with IISCO, he moved over to head Bhilai Steel Plant as its Executive Director-in-charge in the year 1993 and soon he was appointed as Managing Director of Bhilai Steel Plant. Mr. Gujral took over as Chairman of IISCO, Burnpur and Maharashtra Elektrosmett Ltd, Chandrapur, subsidiaries of SAIL, apart from being a senior member of the SAIL Board. Before joining JSPL, he was also the Director- in- charge of the special steel plants of SAIL - Salem Steel Plant and VISL, Bhadravati and a member of the Board of Directors of Bharat Refractories Ltd, Hindustan Steelworks Construction Ltd and Bhilai Oxygen Private Ltd. Mr. Gujral himself has been awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award -1993, for his valuable contribution to the Indian Steel Industry. In 1994, he was awarded the India International Award by the NRI Institute and in 1998 he has been awarded the Tata Gold Medal by Indian Institute of Metals for his significant contribution towards advancement of arts and science relating to the metallurgical industries. He has been awarded coveted "National Metallurgist" award for the year 2003, by Ministry of Steel Govt. of India in recognition of his outstanding contributions in iron & steel plant modernizing projects technology.

Mr. Anand Goel
Mr. Anand Goel has been elevated to the post of Deputy Managing Director of Jindal Steel and Power Limited. Mr. Goel is an MBA from BITS, Pillani and has been associated with Jindal Organisation for over 30 years. He has been a full time Director of Jindal Steel and Power Limited since August, 2000. Mr. Goel has made significant contributions to the growth of the company, especially in the expansion projects in steel, mining and power sectors.

Mr. Sushil K. Maroo
Mr. Sushil K. Maroo
Mr. Sushil Maroo is the Wholetime Director of Jindal Steel & Power Limited (JSPL). He is with the organisation since January 2001. A Chartered Accountant professionally he has over two decades of working experience in the field of financial management, accounts and corporate affairs.

Mr. Maroo's vast experience in project finance, in dealing with national and international finance institutions, managing large public issues and overseas acquisitions along with strategic planning acumen have played a vital role in shaping JSPL's expansive plans both in India and internationally. His responsibilities involve financial planning and to provide strategic growth for JSPL. He has been involved actively in JSPL's recent breakthrough of US$ 2.1 billion project in South America apart from US$ 6.0 billion expansion in Orissa and US$ 3.0 billion expansion in Jharkhand in India.

Mr. Maroo is also a Director on the board of Jindal Power Ltd., a subsidiary of JSPL, which is implementing 1000 MW Power Plant at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh and Director on various overseas companies. Mr. Maroo is active on various national chambers of commerce through various committees viz. ASSOCHAM, CII, FICCI, SIMA & FIMI.

Before joining JSPL, Mr. Maroo worked with Hindustan Lever Ltd, Voltas Limited (Tata Group), Nippon Dendro Ispat Ltd. (Mittal Group), Chambal Fertilizers Limited (Birla Group) & RPG Dholpur Power Company Ltd. (RPG Group).

Mr. P. S. Rana
Mr. P. S. Rana
Mr. Pritam Singh Rana is B.E. (Electrical) and M.E. (Power Systems) from University of Roorkee. Mr. Rana began his career with BHEL and then moved to Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. Prior to joining Jindal Steel & Power Limited, Mr. Rana was Vice President (Operations) with Essar Steel Limited. Mr. Rana has joined JSPL in the year 2003 as Executive Director at Raigarh. Mr. Rana brings along with him about 28 years of rich experience in Power and Steel Industry. He has taken a number of initiatives, which made JSPL to register significant improvements consistently on various fronts – Production, Quality, Environment, Energy Conservation, Socio-Economic, Human Resource Development, etc. Mr. Rana is the Chairman of Indian Institute of Metals from Raigarh Chapter and also a member of Lions Club of Raigarh City and Rotary Club, Raigarh.

Mr. D. P. Sarawgi
Mr. D. P. Sarawgi
Shri D. P. Sarawgi is B. E. (Electrical Engineering) from BIT, Sindri (Jharkhand). He has worked in various managerial capacities in BHEL for 34 years out of which Power sector accounts more than 25 years. He has vast experience in the fields of marketing, project management and construction of mega turnkey power projects. Recently, he has been awarded with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by the "Institute of Engineers (India)-Chhattisgarh State Chapter-Raipur" for his significant contribution towards the betterment of Industrial Excellence in the Power Sector in India & abroad.

Mr. R. K. Saraf
Mr. R. K. Saraf
Mr. R. K. Saraf is B.Sc (Mechanical Engineer) of 1959 from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He has worked in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) for 33 years out of which 3 years as an Executive Director and 3½ years as member of Board of BHEL. He has vast experience in setting up and managing of thermal power plants.

Mr. D. N. Abrol
Mr. D. N. Abrol
Mr. Abrol graduated in B. Tech (Hons.) Mining Engg. with First Class First Position in the 1962 batch of I.I.T. Kharagpur. He also successfully acquired professional certificates of managing Coal Mines from Directorate General of Mines - Govt. of India. In 1996 he joined Jindal Steel & Power Limited and looks after the development of Coal Mines and Iron Ore Mines. During his tenure as Chief of Mines, JSPL boasts of producing 5 million tones iron-ore and 6 million tones of coal per annum. Mr. Abrol's strong interpersonal skills and his continuous liasoning with Govt. Agencies and the Ministries have resulted in JSPL being allocated captive reserves of Coal and Iron Ore.
