FACTS & FIGURES:
CORPORATE:
- JSPL is part of over US $ 8 billion Jindal Organisation.
- JSPL (with the turnover of Rs. 3500 crores) is one of the most
efficiently run steel company, headed by Mr. Naveen Jindal.
- Established in the year 1990 by hiving off the
Raigarh & Raipur Divisions of
Jindal Strips Ltd.
- Already invested more than Rs. 3000 crores and with new
investment commitment of Rs. 8,000 crores, JSPL in the largest
private sector investor in the State of Chhattisgarh.
- Signed an MoU with the State Government of Orissa to set up a 6
Million Ton steel plant by investing Rs.13,500 crores.
- Signed an MoU with the State Government of Jharkhand to set up a
6 Million Ton steel plant with an investment of Rs. 15,000 crores.
- JSPL is an ISO 9002 & ISO 14001 certified Company.
- Set up an industrial Estate over 750 Acre land in distt. Raigarh,
25 industrial units are already in operation, supplying power from
capitive power plant on long term basis @ Rs. 2.50 per unit.
- Carrying out reconnaissance and survey for diamonds in Jahspur
Chhattisgarh, in Gumla, Simdega distt. in Jharkhand and in
Democratic Republic of Congo.

- JSPL has been granted the mining rights for 20 Bn tonnes of iron
ore reserves from El Mutun iron ore Mines, Bolivia.
- It is one of the largest iron ore reserves in the world.
- JSPL plans to invest USD 2.3 bn over the next 8 years in creating
an integrated steel plant, which would be capable of producing
1.7MTPA of long products of steel, and will also have DRI (Direct
Reduced Iron /Sponge iron) Plant of capacity 6MTPA and a pellet
plant of capacity 10MTPA.
- JSPL will also be setting up supporting infrastructure for the
proposed plant including a 400 MW Power Plant.

PLANT & MINES:
- World's largest coal based sponge iron manufacturing capability
at Raigarh, in the State of Chhattisgarh.
- State-of-the-art Steel Melting Shop with Electric Arc Furnaces,
Ladle Refining, Vacuum Degassing and Continuous Casting.
- State-of-the-art Rail & Universal
Beam Mill
- Captive Iron-ore mines at
Tensa, District Sundergarh, Orissa.
- Captive Coal mines at Dongamahua, District Raigarh, Chhattisgarh.
- Coal washery-capacity of 6.0 Million TPA to wash 47-48% ash coal
as to 26% ash.
- 340 MW power generation facility based on waste heat recovery
from rotary kilns, washery rejects and coal fines, which will be
expanded to 600MW.

PRODUCTS:
- First to produce World's Longest 120 meter finished
rail in India.
- First to produce hot rolled parallel
flange beams (H-Beams) & columns in medium and large sizes
in India.
- Manufacturing mild and alloy steel rounds, slabs and blooms as
per international standards.
- Manufacturing Ferro Chrome,
using Submerged Arc Furnace (SAF)
- Manufacturing coal-based sponge iron
using 10 indigenously developed rotary kilns.
- JSPL generates Power from waste hot gases & washery
middlings.
- The surplus power is supplied to the Chhattisgarh State
Electricity Board and to the Industrial Estate set up by JSPL.

JINDAL POWER LIMITED:
- Jindal Power Ltd. (JPL) subsidiary of JSPL, is setting up a 1000 MW O P Jindal Super
Thermal Power Plant at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, with an investment of
over Rs.4,500 crores.
- The first mega power project in the private sector to have
achieved financial closure.
- JSPL with its large experience in installation, operation and
maintenance of thermal power plants is the Project Management
Consultant (PMC) for the project.
- The O P Jindal Super Thermal Power Plant will be up and running
by June 2007.

INDUSTRIAL PARK:
- Established Industrial
Park at Raigarh in the State of Chhattisgarh over 750 acres of
land.
- More than Rs. 1200 crores investment is expected in this
Industrial Park.
- In its fully operational state the
Industrial Park is
expected to provide employment to over 5000 people.
- 30 industrial units already operating and a number of units are
under implementation.
- Supplying continuous power @ Rs 2.50 per unit. Rates of power to
remain firm for a period of 5 years.

DIAMOND EXPLORATION
- Initiation has been made in exploration for diamond, gold and
associated minerals under reconnaissance permit (RP) over 2500 sq.km
in Jahspur district of Chhattisgarh State.
- Another area of 3009 sq.km in the adjoining parts of Jharkhand
State has been alloted for exploration for diamond, gold, base
metals etc.
- Jindal Rex Exploration Pvt. Ltd. has been incorporated under a
joint venture with Rex Diamond Mining Company with the headquarters
in Canada and the operational centre at Belguim.
- Will be soon starting exploration for diamonds in Democratic
Republic of Congo.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adopted 42 villages at Raigarh, a tribal district in the State of
Chhattisgarh, providing them with all basic amenities:
- Infrastructure including Roads, Drinking water & Sewerage
- Building of new schools like the 10+2 Co-educational O P
Jindal School with an investment of Rs. 5 crores
- Renovation of the oldest Girls School in Raigarh
- Medical Camps, thrice every week, benefiting over 30,000
people
- An ICU unit at the General Hospital at Raigarh
- Renovation & maintenance of the Kamala Nehru Park in
Raigarh
- Merit scholarships
- Women's welfare programs
- Initiated the Social Accountability system, SA 8000.

- Committed to environment protection as an integral part of the
business activities and rated as one of the best environmentally
managed companies.
- Adopted eco-friendly processes and planted more than 10 lakh
trees.
- The latest pollution control systems have been installed in our
plants.
- The planning and maintenance of green belts in and around the
various manufacturing facilities.
