Mr. Naveen Jindal has many facets to his personality. He is a Member of Parliament, the Chairman of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) and a sports enthusiast.
The youngest son of Sh. O.P. Jindal, the steel visionary and former Minister for Power in the government of Haryana, Mr Naveen Jindal is the man behind the transformation of a moderately performing company into a world class organisation. After consolidating its position as a leading player in the steel, power, mining and infrastructure sectors, JSPL has now diversified into the oil & gas sector.
Recently, JSPL was rated the Second Highest Value Creator in the world by the Boston Consulting Group of USA.
Mr Jindal has been featured among the top ten of India Inc's Most Powerful CEOs 2011 by a survey conducted by the Indian Market Research Bureau (IMRB) for Economic Times-Corporate Dossier. He has also featured in the Most Influential People's List for the state of Haryana by India Today and has been conferred with the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2010 in the field of Energy and Infrastructure.
Mr. Jindal is a management graduate from the University of Texas at Dallas, USA. He is not only a successful entrepreneur but also a caring politician and an effective parliamentarian. He represents Haryana state's Kurukshetra constituency in the Lok Sabha. He started active participation in politics during his college days. He was the President of the Student Government and recipient of the 'Student Leader of the Year Award' while at the University of Texas.
Mr Jindal has been awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award for 2010 by the University of Texas, Dallas for his contribution to public service, being a responsible corporate citizen and guiding his company to become a global player.
Weeding out corruption, women's empowerment, population stabilisation, aiming for a hunger free society, promotion of sports at all levels, advocating a clean environment and providing health and educational facilities in his constituency top his political agenda. His ideology is to incorporate best practices of business management into politics.
As issues of national pride and self-esteem have always been uppermost in his mind, Mr. Jindal single-handedly took up the cause of restoring in Indians a national pride, choosing the Tricolour as his symbol. As a result of his decade long crusade, the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, in a historic judgment on January 23, 2004 held that the right to fly the National Flag freely, with respect and dignity is a Fundamental Right of every Indian Citizen.
Mr. Jindal's next campaign was successful when in December 2009 the Home Ministry agreed to a proposal made by him to fly the flag at night where the flag is installed on a monumental / giant pole with proper illumination. Taking it forward, he campaigned and in Feb 2010 got the Rules Committee of the Indian Parliament through the Hon'ble Speaker to allow the Members of Parliament to display the National Flag as a lapel pin while seated in the House. Mr. Jindal is currently putting up monumental flags of 100 ft high across the country. More than 20 flags have been hoisted uptill now.
Mr. Jindal is a national record holder in skeet shooting and an accomplished Polo player. He was also a part of the Haryana shooting team that won the Gold medal at the 54th National shooting Championship competition (Big Bore) in the civilian category held at Gurgaon in May 2011. Currently, he is taking a lot of interest in promoting hockey, the national game of India.

Mr. Ravi Uppal - Managing Director & CEO

Mr. Ravi Uppal is MD & CEO, JSPL. Mr. Uppal brings with him more than 36 years of experience of working in engineering and infrastructural segments in India and abroad. He has successfully set up several new businesses and also turned around low performing units in the past. He has worked at various senior managerial positions in Larsen & Toubro Limited, ABB India and Volvo India. Immediately prior to joining us, he was the whole time Director and President & CEO – Power at Larsen & Toubro Group. Prior to L&T, he was the President Global Markets & Technology with ABB Group and Member of Group Executive Committee of ABB Group, Zurich, Switzerland and Chairman of ABB, India, founding Managing Director & Country Manager of Volvo India.
Mr. Uppal has completed his B. Tech (Mechanical) from IIT, Delhi, thereafter he went on to complete his MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad and has also completed his Advanced MBA from Wharton Business School, USA.
Mr. Anand Goel - Joint Managing Director

Mr. Anand Goel is the Joint Managing Director of JSPL and the Non-Executive Director of JPL. He holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from BITS, Pilani and is one of the longest-serving Jindalites, with his association spanning over 36 years. He has closely witnessed the phenomenal growth of the group and has been associated with various crucial steps that the company has taken for its growth and expansion. As a member of the core management group, he is respected and valued for his commitment, dedication and ability to quickly and decisively offer solutions to new challenges. His understanding of the business has been instrumental in evolving growth strategies and significantly contributed to implementation of the company's expansion and diversification projects in steel, mining and power sectors.
Mr. Goel is a member of the National Steel and National Mining committees of FICCI , National Mining Committee of CII and the Governing Body of the O. P. Jindal Global University.
Mr. Vikrant Gujral - Advisor Emeritus

Mr. Vikrant Gujral has completed 12 years of continually progressive journey towards excellence of our organisation. His contribution towards growth and transformation of the organisation into a mega business Corporate House having not only a well-entrenched domestic but also a vast global foot prints today. Apart from the growth of diversified areas of business and volume of business, Mr. Vikrant Gujral has been a part of the overall leadership growth journey of JSPL.
With a view to continue getting the benefits of his immense wealth of knowledge and competence emanating out of his vast experience, he would continue to serve the organisation as an Advisor Emeritus w.e.f. April 09, 2013. Apart from his contribution of directorship across various boards of the group companies, he shall as such be advising and guiding on matters related to both domestic as well global part of the business particularly resolution of legal cases including Bolivia and Brazil.
A Mechanical Engineer from Jabalpur University, his leadership qualities have led JSPL forward. Under his aegis, new units have not only stabilised production in a very short time but have shown marked improvement in production & productivity indices with consequent higher profitability. During his tenure, the company has expanded out of India and is setting up projects in different parts of the world.
Starting his career in 1963, Mr. Gujral's journey in the Iron & Steel industry has been long and fruitful. Working in several organisations of repute, Mr. Gujral has received several awards in recognition of his work:
- 1993 - Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award for his valuable contribution to the Indian steel industry.
- 1994 - India International Award by the NRI Institute
- 1998 - Tata Gold Medal by the Indian Institute of Metals for his significant contribution towards advancement of metallurgical industries.
- 2003 - "National Metallurgist" award by Ministry of Steel, Govt. of India in recognition of his outstanding contributions in iron & steel plant modernisation technology.
- 2006 - Mr. Gujral, has been felicitated with the 'IIM Platinum Medal' 2006 by the Indian Institute of Metals. The Platinum Medal is the highest honour in the field of metallurgy and recognized his outstanding lifetime contribution to the metallurgical profession and to the industry.

Mr. Subrat Ratho - Managing Director- Coal-to-Liquid Project

Mr. Subrat Ratho is Managing Director- Coal-to-Liquid Project. Mr. Ratho brings with him more than 24 years of experience of working in administration in various functional fields both at State and Central Governments. He joined the elite Indian Administration Services in 1986.
He was the Managing Director of the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd., Principal Secretary Energy, Government of Maharashtra and the Managing Director of Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited.
He has also served as Additional Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai. Mr. Ratho is a post graduate in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Mr. V.R.Sharma - Dy. M.D & CEO Steel Business

Mr. V.R.Sharma is Dy. M.D. & CEO (Steel Business) of JSPL. He is a Mechanical Engineer with MBA and has more than 29 years of experience globally in steel industry. He worked with Bhushan Steel Group, Ispat Industries, Lloyd Steel Group, Socialist Steel Ltd. (Government of Libya) and Arrasate Steel in Europe.
JSPL has a 3.00 MTPY Plant at Raigarh (Chattisgarh) and adding new Steel Making Facility at Angul (Odisha) having capacity of 6.00 MTPY, out of which 2.00 MTPY capacity is commissioned and balance is under installation. In addition to above, another 3.00 MTPY capacity at Patratu (Jharkhand) is under installation and partly commissioned.
Mr.V.R.Sharma is Chairman of India Lead Zinc Development Association, New Delhi and also a Co-Chairman of CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) for Metal & Metallurgy Chapter.
Mr.V.R.Sharma is shortlisted in the finalist for CEO of the Year Award 2013 by Platts Global Metals Awards. Winners of the 2013 Global Metals Award will be announced on May 23rd, 2013 at London.
Mr.V.R.Sharma has worked in Steel lndustry throughout his career, it is a matter of great pride to the Nation that a person from Steel Industry has been short listed in the list of finalists for the Global
Metals Award first time from INDIA.
Mr. Sushil Maroo - Deputy Managing Director

A professional par excellence, Mr. Sushil Maroo is a stalwart in the field of strategic planning, business management, financial management, and corporate affairs. He is on the board of Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) since 2004 and is a Deputy Managing Director. He also joined the board of Jindal Power Limited (JPL) in 2004 and is serving as the Deputy Managing Director of JPL since 2008.
With professional experience spanning more than two decades, Mr. Maroo has achieved great proficiency in areas like strategic planning, overseas acquisitions, project finance, dealing with national and international financial institutions, managing large public issues, and running businesses.
A Chartered Accountant by profession, Mr. Maroo, before joining JSPL in 2001, has had extensive work experience with reputed corporate houses like Hindustan Lever Limited, Voltas Limited (Tata Group), Nippon Dendro Ispat Limited (Mittal Group), Chambal Fertilizers Limited (Birla Group) and RPG Dholpur Power Company Limited (RPG Group).
Mr. Maroo has played a key role in shaping JSPL’s expansion, its financial planning and strategic growth. As Dy. Managing Director on the Board of JPL, he has been a key member of the team that set up India’s first private 1000 MW Mega Thermal Power Plant at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh.
Mr. Maroo is also on the board of all the major companies of the JSPL group and has been instrumental in the group’s diversification and overseas expansion. He played a key role in the expansion of the company’s businesses in Odisha and Jharkhand in India.
Mr. Maroo is also behind the conception of Jindal Petroleum Ltd, which made the group venture into the oil and gas exploration sector. Today, Jindal Petroleum Georgia is the largest Oil and Gas exploration company in Georgia. His current responsibility platter also includes overseeing the group's real estate venture, which has been growing leaps and bounds under his guidance. Mr. Maroo has recently initiated group's foray into Information Technology sector.
Mr. Maroo is a professional of repute. He interacts with print and electronic media on various issues relating to steel and power industry as well as economy of the country in general. He is a member on various committees of different chambers of commerce in the country. Among the positions he holds are:

Mr. Rajeev Bhadauria - Director Group HR

Mr Bhadauria brings with him a rich and diverse experience of 28 years as a HR professional having worked both in the Public and Private sectors. Mr. Bhadauria's decade long stint in NTPC saw him rising from an entry level HR executive to Regional HR Head leading NTPC's Northern region in terms of the generation capacity and workforce.
Making a decisive move into the private sector, Mr Bhadauria joined Reliance Infrastructure in 1995 as the Head of Corporate HR. The power sector reforms in India saw him leading the BSES acquisition of Odisha and Delhi Distribution companies and subsequently managing the takeover of BSES by Reliance. His professional acumen moved him to the Group level where he played a pivotal role in the de-merger process of the Reliance Group as President HR. Since then, he has been one of the Group's key resources in guiding the transformation of Reliance-ADA Group.
Mr Bhadauria has demonstrated competencies of leading acquisitions, demergers, incubations and steady state operations. This competence arises from his ability to comprehend and deal with the complexities of managing and striking a pragmatic balance between people aspirations and organisational considerations.
Mr Bhadauria is a Post Graduate in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from the Power Management Institute, NTPC besides LLB from Allahabad University.
Mr. K. Rajagopal - Group CFO & Director

Mr. K. Rajagopal is the Group Chief Financial Officer & Director of JSPL. A Chartered Accountant by qualification, Mr. Rajagopal has extensive background into the whole gamut of Finance across organizations. He brings with him more than 31 years of experience out of which about 21 years has been with ABB.
He started his career with ABB as Business Unit Controller and rose up to the level of Whole Time Director with ABB Switzerland. Prior to this, he had been the Chief Financial Officer and Whole Time Director for ABB India.
As the CFO of ABB, he was responsible for Finance/Accounts/ Secretarial/Legal/ IT/Real Estate/Administration services. He is a strategist, a policy maker, and has strived to continuously improve the profitability through strategic and highly efficient business portfolio evaluation.
Mr. Manu Kapoor - Director – External Affairs & Corporate Communication

Mr. Manu Kapoor has an MA & M Phil from Rajasthan University and an MBA from FMS, Mumbai. He has a fairly diverse career with Global Corporates that spans across various geographies and industries. He has worked and developed contacts for Business Development at the highest Public Policy levels both at the centre and state levels in India..
Over the last 10 years, he has been the official spokesperson in various capacities, working closely with various Governments, Cross sections of the Indian and Foreign Media and allied Chambers of Commerce and Industries.
Mr. Kapoor brings in a unique blend of Corporate Affairs understanding with the ability to lead and drive media and brand management activities. Mr. Atul K. Misra - Executive Director (Incharge), Raigarh

Mr. Atul K. Misra is Executive Director, Project at the Raigarh Plant of JSPL. He is a graduate in Metallurgy and postgraduate in Physical Metallurgy from the University of Roorkee.
Prior to joining us, he was heading a 5 MTPA expansion project of ESSAR Steel at Hazira which includes state-of-the-art steel making and compact strip mill and associated auxiliaries. The whole project was commissioned in very smooth way and resulted in steep ramp up of the production. Subsequently, he was heading the operations of new steel making complex which includes 1.7 MTPA Blast Furnace and two Corex units having a capacity of 0.85 MTPA. He also worked with leading steel companies like ISPAT and Lloyd.
He has a work experience of 28 years with vast experience of steelmaking, debottlenecking of process and plants and well-versed with various functions of an integrated steel plant having in-depth knowledge of steel making operation and steel plant projects.
Mr. Jona Pillay - Executive Director (Coal Gasification & Coal to liquid)

Mr. Jona Pillay is Executive Director for Jindal Steel and Power Limited’s Coal Gasification and its prestigious Coal to Liquid projects. Mr. Pillay brings with him 18 years of rich process industry experience where he has worked for Shell and BP, a joint venture oil refinery in Durban South Africa. He spent the rest of his career with South African based Petroleum group Sasol, where majority of his time was spent on Sasol Coal to Liquid Operations in Secunda. He joined the Sasol Synfuels Executive Management team in 2004, and headed the Gasification, Fischer Tropsch, Refining and Water and Ash operations departments. He is known for his strong leadership qualities. Mr. Pillay obtained a B.Tech Degree in Chemical Engineering from Vaal University of Technology and a four year MBA from University of South Africa. He has also attended Sasol Accelerated leadership development program (ALDP) as well as Sasol executive development program (SEDP).
Mr. Virendra Kumar Mehta - Director, Sales & Marketing

Mr. Virendra Kumar Mehta is Director, Sales & Marketing. He has a rich experience of 36 years in marketing during which he has led the largest steel marketing network and been responsible for several innovative practices. He was the Project Leader for Marketing Module of IISI (now WSA) for India 2020 and has also worked as Director General, INSDAG.
Mr. Mehta is a Masters in Economics from Meerut University and has a post graduate diploma in Marketing Management from Punjab University.
Prior to joining JSPL, he was working with SAIL, Kolkata as its Executive Director, Marketing and was also on the Board of Directors of Mjunction and SAIL-SCI Shipping Co.
Mr. G.D.S. Sohal - Executive Director (Cement)

Mr. G. D. S. Sohal is Executive Director, Cement Division in Jindal Steel & Power Ltd, Raigarh. His responsibilities include setting up of the 2 MTPA Cement Plant. Prior to this, he has served as Executive Director, Raigarh steel plant including the captive power plant. He did his B.E. (Mechanical) from REC Warangal, work-study from NITIE (National Institute for Training in Industrial Engineering) and Production Management from Jamanalal Bajaj Institute of Management, Mumbai.
He has extensive experience of 44 years in the industry and has worked with companies like ACC Limited, Aditya Vikram Birla Group's Vikram Cement and East African Sugar Industries Ltd., Kenya (East Africa).
Mr. D.K. Saraogi - Executive Director (Angul)

Mr. D.K. Saraogi is one of the senior most employees of JSPL, working presently as Executive Director, Angul. Mr. Saraogi was earlier Executive President and Head, Jindal Shadeed Iron & Steel LLC in Oman. He has more than 24 years of association with the company out of a total of 30 years of professional experience. Mr. Saraogi holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Government Engineering College, Jabalpur in the year 1981.
He was given the charge of the Oman operations immediately after the acquisition of Shadeed Iron and Steel LLC in July 2010. Under his able leadership, the plant started production almost five months ahead of schedule with the production of Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) on December 05, 2010.
Mr. Saraogi joined the company as Manager [Works] in the year 1988 at Raigarh [C.G.] and successfully executed a no. of projects at Raigarh steel plant. He was also entrusted by the company for leading the establishment of the company's steel project at Angul, Odhisa, where he worked for a little more than three years.
Mr. N.A. Ansari - Director, Jindal Shadeed, Oman

Mr. Naushad Akhter Ansari has taken over charge of Jindal Shadeed Iron and Steel (JSIS), Oman as Director and Head of the Plant with effect from May 2012.
He started his career in Tata Steel, Jamshedpur in 1974 and worked there in various capacities for about 34 years. During this period he worked largely for modenising the steel plant and developed expertise in managing large projects.
He joined the JSPL group as Executive Director at Patratu unit in September 2008. During his tenure he was instrumental in successfully commissioning the two rolling mills of combined capacity of 1.6 mtpa.
Prior to joining JSIS, he was Executive Director in charge of JSPL, Raigarh as well as whole time Director of JSPL, India, the flagship company of JSPL group producing over 3.0 MTPA of steel through integrated rout. During his brief tenure at Raigarh, the plant achieved the rated capacity & went beyond it.
Mr. Ansari has 38 years of rich industry experience. He led a large workforce and had been responsible for several innovative practices. Under his dynamic leadership, various projects like SMS, Rolling Mills, Sinter plant, Blast Furnace, Raw Material Handling facilities and Power Plant etc. have been completed successfully.
Mr. Ansari obtained B.Sc. Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from AMU, Aligarh in 1974, obtaining first class first position & thus securing gold medal. He has also done various management courses from Wharton School of Business, USA, INSEAD, Singapore and ISB, Hyderabad.
